A native of Lawton, Leslie Powell was a successful artist who is remembered for the many contributions he made throughout his life. Housed in one of the oldest buildings in downtown Lawton, the Leslie Powell Gallery is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote artists from around the Southwest region. From three-dimensional art to paintings and drawings, the gallery features permanent exhibits as well as exhibitions that display for 60 days. Author signings, poetry readings and other evening or special events are also part of the Leslie Powell Gallery experience. There is no fee to visit the gallery or attend events.
