McClain County Museum
The McClain Historical Society and Museum in Purcell provides a fascinating glimpse into the past of McClain County and the people who live there. Eleven rooms house all kinds of artifacts from past generations such as photos, letters, genealogy records, advertisements, books, furnishings and lots of trinkets and curiosities from a bygone era. Located in the historic Old McCurdy Hospital building, right on State Highway 77, the McClain County Museum provides the opportunity to experience a special part of Oklahoma history in a unique and personal way.
