The agency is headquartered on the Illinois River, a popular recreation destination for anglers, boaters, campers and swimmers. The OSRC has eight public access areas with convenient river access for swimming, fishing, boating and primitive camping. The river is located at the foot of the Ozark Mountains and has a 600 acre primitive area located close by that is perfect for seasonal hunting, mountain biking and hiking.
