The Oklahoma Genealogical Society, founded in 1955, brings together people who are interested in genealogical research. The society holds meetings in the Oklahoma History Center on the first Monday of each month. These meetings are open to the public, and experienced researchers will be available before the meetings to answer research questions.

The society also offers genealogy workshops, seminars and features guest speakers; topics covered in the past include preserving photographs and documenting family stories.

The on-site resource center features a library of genealogical materials and experienced genealogists to teach you how to research your family.
