Born in Duluth, Minnesota, on May 24, 1941, Bob Dylan taught himself to play the piano and guitar, and spent his formative years playing in local bands. During the American folk revival of the 1960s, Bob Dylan moved to New York and burst into the Greenwich Village folk music scene. Shortly after arriving in NYC, he signed with Columbia Records and released his first self-titled debut album in 1962. Since then, Bob Dylan has written over 600 songs and released over 50 albums during his incredible career.

Take an in-depth look at the songwriter who defined a generation at the Bob Dylan Center in Tulsa. This immersive experience will offer curated exhibits pulled from over 100,000 items spanning Dylan’s career. Browse handwritten manuscripts and memorabilia while enjoying music from Dylan’s studio and concert recordings, including “Like a Rolling Stone,” “Tangled Up in Blue” and “Chimes of Freedom.” Visitors will also be able to see a recreation of an authentic studio environment and experience what it was like to be present at one of Dylan’s historic recording sessions.

In addition to the exhibits at the Bob Dylan Center, the museum seeks to engage visitors to reach their full potential as creators by offering special events including public programs, performances, lectures, additional exhibits and publications. Located in the diverse Tulsa Arts District, the Bob Dylan Center is easily identified by an eye-catching mural depicting Dylan in a rare 1965 photo.
