Located on the University of Oklahoma campus, the Western History Collections boasts one of the largest and most complete collections of materials on the American West. Access an abundance of material documenting the socio-economic development of the Western frontier. There are 65,000 books and thousands of items such as manuscripts, periodicals, microfilm, oral histories, photographs, maps and artifacts available for research.

Gain genealogical insight into your past with a trip to the Western History Collections. The library has a collection of journals, oral histories and personal correspondence from Oklahoma pioneers from 1861-1936. One of the collections' most coveted item is the Draper Manuscript, sometimes called the Draper Papers, which provides a detailed account of pioneer interviews from the 1740s to the War of 1812.
