The store is also home to the Mercantile Candle Company, which employs men and women with developmental disabilities and creates hand-poured candles in a variety of shapes and scents. Visitors to the Route 66 Mercantile can even watch the candle-making process on-site before choosing a candle for their home alongside a T-shirt or seasonal decoration.
