Lake of the Arbuckles

Chickasaw National Recreation Area
Sulphur, OK 73086

Built by the Bureau of Reclamation in 1966, the Lake of the Arbuckles is a popular destination for fishing and water recreation. Thirty-six miles of shoreline and protected coves are good for trotlines, and since the water is unusually clear, trolling is also popular. Sought after fish include crappie, catfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, white bass, and sunfish. Fishing is permitted year-round.

The lake forms the western portion of the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. Facilities include three campgrounds, picnic areas, public restrooms, drinking water and boat ramps.

Boat launch fee required for all boats that also require registration in the state of Oklahoma. Fee is $4/day. An annual pass is available at $30/calendar year.

Campsites without hookups (Cold Springs, Guy Sandy, Rock Creek, Buckhorn and the Point Campgrounds) range from $14-$16 per night.

Sites with water and electric hookups (Buckhorn and the Point Campgrounds, and one site at Rock Creek Campground) are $22 per night.

Sites with water, electric and sewer hookups (Buckhorn Campground, Loop D sites #24, 25, 26 and Buckhorn Campground, Loop C sites #4, 5, 6, 7, available May through September) are $24 per night.

Group sites (Rock Creek, Cold Springs & Central Campgrounds) are $30 per night.

Federal Senior and Access pass holders receive a reduced rate on boat launch and camping fees.

While every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the pricing listed above, prices are subject to change without notice.
