Yurts

Glamp in style with a stay in a yurt. These round, tent-like structures hearken back nearly three millennia to the steppes of Central Asia where they were the preferred domicile for the horse-riding nomads of the region. Each structure has heating, air conditioning, beds and other furniture along with microwaves and mini-refrigerators. The yurts' surroundings vary by park. Natural Falls State Park has five yurts that are tucked away near the waterfall, while Robbers Cave State Park has two yurts found right along Lake Carlton. At Lake Eufaula State Park, there’s one right on Hummingbird Beach and two others in more secluded areas. The yurts at Beavers Bend State Park overlook the Mountain Fork River.

Tiny Cabins

Embark on a simple, yet luxurious getaway when staying in a tiny cabin at select Oklahoma State Parks. Each cabin features similar amenities as its full-sized counterparts – kitchen appliances, walk-in showers and queen or king-sized beds – but pared down to provide an intimate lodging experience. Beavers Bend’s tiny cabins provide a quiet escape along the Lower Mountain Fork River, while Lake Murray’s showcase incredible lakeside views. Foss State Park also features these quaint cabins on the untamed charm of Western Oklahoma’s prairie grasslands. Grab a group of 4-6 friends, choose from several pet-friendly and ADA-accessible options, then simplify your stay here.

Covered Wagon

Spending the night in a covered wagon might sound like roughing it, but it’s actually quite a luxurious treat for Robbers Cave State Park guests. The interior has queen-sized bunk beds, a microwave and a mini-fridge, and the space is heated and air-conditioned. Restrooms and showers are nearby in the equestrian campground.

Wall Tents

Bring your bedroll and cozy up around the fire with a stay in a wall tent at Osage Hills State Park. Tucked away at the edge of a wooded campground, these canvas tents promise the chance to camp in style with wooden floors, cots and a wood burning stove for those chilly fall nights. Each tent sleeps up to six with comfort stations nearby.

Teepees

Head to Roman Nose State Park to experience a truly unique camping experience with a stay in one of the park teepees. Open from April through October, these three teepees in the Beaver Dam campground sleep up to four adults and include an electric outlet, outdoor fire ring and grill.

Book your stay here. Select Beaver Dam > BD060, BD061 or BD062 (Note: Since the teepees are open seasonally, they will be blocked out from November through March).

Lake Huts

Similar to tiny cabins, lake huts can be found at both McGee Creek State Park and Twin Bridges Area at Grand Lake State. Eight rustic lake huts are available near the Potapo Campground at McGee Creek. Each offers a back porch overlooking the lake, bunk beds, a fireplace and air conditioning. Water service and barbecue grills are available outside each hut. Restrooms with showers are located within walking distance and pets are allowed to stay in the huts for a small fee. Perched with a lovely view of the Neosho River, the five primitive lake huts at Twin Bridges are open seasonally from April through November and feature electricity, ceiling fans and screened windows. Lake huts are bookable by calling the park office. (Linens are not provided.)
